Sharing Cultures 2013 – 3rd International Conference on Intangible Heritage follows the path established by the previous Conference on Intangible Heritage (Sharing Cultures 2009 and 2011) and aims at pushing further the discussion on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), under the main topics proposed by the UNESCO Convention adding some new field of discussion, namely on what concerns management and promotion of ICH, educational matters and musealization.

Tour of The Tallow Chandlers Hall, London

A not to be missed opportunity has arisen to visit the Grade I listed Tallow Chandlers Hall, one of the most well preserved of London’s Livery Halls. The current hall dates from 1672.

We will be taken on a tour by the Beadle and Hall Manager and highlights will include the courtyard, lobby staircase, C17th oak panelled Parlour, Banqueting Hall containing heraldic stained glass and the Court room, one of the original purpose built Stuart court rooms with C17th seating arrangement.

The University of Glasgow’s Imaging Spectroscopy and Analysis Centre (ISAAC) is hosting a unique seminar to discuss the insights and benefits achievable by applying characterisation and analysis to heritage science research and conservation. Located in the University’s School of Geographical & Earth Sciences (GES), ISAAC has an extensive track record for providing micro and nano scale examination of paintings, textiles, building stone, etc., to inform decision-making, policy, and operations.
