In this third Aberdeen Heritage Lecture of 2021, learn about the range of different mortars that have been employed in our built heritage overtime, from clay/earth mortars to early patented cements and everything else in between. Why choosing the right mortar for historic building repair is vital to prolong their lives and what can go horribly wrong when the incorrect mortar(s) have been used. Roz will use case studies to Illustrate the process of formulating a specification for replacement and repair mortars.
