Buxton: Resilient Cultural Heritage & the Role of the Visitor Economy

17 October 2019 - 09:30 - 16:30

£35 – £155

This seminar and walking tour will look at how heritage-led regeneration has delivered the newly redeveloped and restored Buxton Crescent, Natural Baths and Pump Room in Buxton.

Looking at this key component in Buxton’s Visitor Economy Strategy, and tourism in the wider Peak District, this is an opportunity to learn more from those directly involved in the projects including the developer The Osbourne Group, and visit the Devonshire Dome, and Crescent and Thermal Spa in advance of its opening to the public.

Topics include:

  • Heritage-led regeneration
  • Developing a strategic tourism market
  • The Buxton Visitor Economy
  • Delivering the Vision: Buxton Crescent and Thermal Spa Restored
  • The role of heritage assets in the visitor economy

The full programme is available at: http://www.htvf.org/page/. This event is being generously sponsored by High Peak Borough Council, the University of Derby, Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust, and Buxton Crescent & Thermal Spa Hotel.
