Heritage Lincolnshire – Medieval Town Development (An Introduction)

Join us for an introduction to some typical elements of Medieval urban development highlighting some of the patterns to look out for and the lessons they can teach us about future resilience and sustainability.

This talk is delivered by Heritage Lincolnshire as part of the Boston Townscape Heritage Project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Boston Borough Council.

This talk will be delivered by Andy Graham a Planning, Urban Design and Heritage Consultant specialising in managing change to the historic environment and learning the lessons of historic places to inspire future sustainable and people friendly development. Over recent years he has published his own research into Medieval town planning and how the patterns of such development can not only survive intact within our present villages, towns and cities, but also that they can teach us about mix of uses, identity and resilience. Andy is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), the Urban Design Group and is a a Design Council Built Environment Expert. He is also a member of the Cathedral’s Fabric Advisory Board for York Minster and Ripon Cathedral.
