RSA – VIRTUAL – South East Cities of Learning – Supporting and showcasing skills

25 November 2020 - 13:00 - 14:00

Free

Join us for an update on the RSA-led project Cities of Learning, an approach that promotes and recognises learning wherever it happens, and leads to new pathways into education and work. The pilot project for Cities of Learning in Brighton has almost completed and we are preparing to create a wider opportunity, and open up for involvement across the South East and beyond.

We’ll hear from Deana Ward, Programme Lead at Future Creators, about the overall project and how you can champion the use of the Cities of Learning digital badges in your community.

As we move into a further period of uncertainty, we will see how Cities of Learning has the potential to support people to develop and showcase their skills. At a time when unemployment risks being at its highest ever levels, we will see how this work has the potential to help. The Plymouth and Brighton pilots have so far focused on the 14-25 age group. However, as we move forwards and begin to scale this work regionally and beyond, this will be expanded. We will be able to look at how a broad range of sectors, as well as community and cultural organisations and informal learning providers can use the Cities of Learning model to support recovery – especially for those most affected by this pandemic.

Everyone is welcome, Fellows and non-Fellows.
