SPAB – The Historical Use of Timber as a Building Material, Repairs and Conservation

6 March 2020 - 09:30 - 13:30

£55

Dr Joseph Bispham will present a morning of illustrated lectures with refreshments and a light lunch. This event is being organised by the SPAB Essex Group.

The venue on the site of the 13th century timber Medieval Barns at Cressing Temple gives a perfect starting point for the morning’s lectures. It includes three Grade I-listed structures: the 13th-century Barley and Wheat Barns, described as the two finest Templar-built barns in Europe, one of which is the oldest standing timber-framed barn in the world; and the 16th-century granary building, the largest in Essex.
