University of Liverpool in London – #BrutalismNow – From listing “British Brutalism” in the World Monuments Watch to Preston Bus Station’s 50th birthday: so, where are we now?

11 October 2019 - 09:30 - 19:00

£70

The architectural style of “Brutalism” has long been misunderstood, yet two Brutalist buildings featured in the RIBA Awards 2019: the Southbank Centre in London and Preston Bus Station in Lancashire. To discuss the wider implications of their stories, the Liverpool School of Architecture, in partnership with the Twentieth Century Society, is organising a one-day cross-sector conference on Friday 11 October 2019, at the University of Liverpool in London campus.

The event should be of special interest to heritage and architecture professionals who engage with post-war heritage assets, as well as architectural historians and architecture students.
