3rd International Conference on Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage, and Archaeology (SEAHA)

Heritage science is a cross-disciplinary field connecting science and the humanities. There is an on-going dialogue over global issues, which define the research and technological applications of heritage scientists. Joint CIfA and IHBC Event

The second London Branch Event will be a joint IHBC/CIfA seminar on the afternoon of Tuesday 28 February at The Gallery, Cowcross Street, Farringdon, EC1M 6EL.

Full details of topics/speakers to be confirmed but Sandy Kidd, Principal Archeaology Adviser at GLAAS will be speaking about Archaeological Priority Areas and presentations on Local Listing and Enforcing Conservation Areas requirements may also be included.

Understanding and Inspecting Traditional Slate and Tile Roofs

A two day CPD course introducing those involved in the specification and inspection of historic buildings to traditional roofing materials and methods.

This course will introduce those involved in the specification and inspection of historic buildings to traditional roofing materials and methods. At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Identify that a roof is traditional
  • What materials have been used in the roof’s construction
  • Apply sound conservation philosophy to decisions regarding repair work
  • Identify good and poor practice in work carried out on traditional roofs.

This two day course offers an excellent opportunity to learn from experts within the field and ask questions about projects you are involved in.
