This course covers 8 days of quality ‘hands-on’ training in traditional rubble wall building and offers an opportunity to work on a ‘live’ site at Smithyends Car Park in Cumbernauld Old Village. The course starts at our all weather training centre at Merryhill, Charlestown, Fife for two days of rubble wall building using the correct lime mortars and techniques to build masonry to very exacting tolerances. Once your skills are ‘honed’ the remaining 6 days will be spent at Smithyends Car Park in dismantling and rebuilding an historic whinstone wall to enhance Cumbernauld Old Village. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and be part of a very valuable heritage project.
