Everyone has heard of hemp, but very few know that this plant has many uses, notably in construction. Indeed, the infamous plant is now used to make hempcrete by wet-mixing chopped hemp stem with a lime-based binder.  With no carbon footprint, this new material is often perceived as a great solution for sustainable buildings. During this course, you will learn everything there is to know about hemp, its uses and benefits in restoration, conservation and new-build, to how to choose and mix your hemp binder. Your skills will be put to the test with hands-on practice on hand placing hemp, working with hemp blocks and plastering on it.
