HES – Insight Tour: Dunkeld Cathedral

3 October 2019 - 10:00 - 16:00

Dunkeld Cathedral is an ancient place, and was once a Pictish monastery before the cathedral was built.

The construction of Dunkeld Cathedral took about 250 years, from the mid-1200s to the late 1400s. Today, the site remains in ecclesiastical use.

This important structure is under the care of Historic Environment Scotland (HES) and on this Insight Tour one of the architects that looks after this monument will talk about how it’s been conserved.

Hear about the Cathedral’s past and current conservation works. Climb the scaffolding to see the masonry replacement works up close and learn more about how we have been adapting to climate change at Dunkeld Cathedral.

The Engine Shed is part of HES.

Please note:

Spaces are limited to 15 people per tour. Please be aware bookings will close on Tuesday 1 October 2019 at 11:59pm.

Our 10am tour is fully booked.
