The SPAB have once again teamed up with Historic Royal Palaces to offer a programme of one-day masterclasses specialising in building conservation and repair. Combining lectures, practical demonstrations and hands-on workshops, these masterclasses are designed for those who are professionally involved with buildings (e.g. architects, surveyors, engineers, planners, builders, contractors, craftsmen and women). The masterclasses are recognised for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC).

The aim of this masterclass is to consider how historic finishes are investigated and conserved – focusing on paint and wallpaper, and using the unique setting of Hampton Court Palace as a case study. Delegates will also gain experience of practical techniques during a hands-on workshop.
