High street renewal and reconfiguration

This conference will be a timely opportunity to discuss priorities for Britain’s high streets.

3 Feb 2015
London

It will bring together policymakers with local authorities, retailers and other businesses, planners, town centre management teams, the third sector and other key stakeholders.

Following measures announced in the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement, such as the 2% cap on the rise of business rates from April 2014 and further plans to give 300,000 small retail firms £1,000 off their next tax bill, delegates will discuss Government initiatives to revitalise high streets and town centres.

Further sessions will focus on provisions made in the National Planning Policy Framework designed to promote investment in town centres, challenges of omni-channel retailing and wider implementation of the Retail Strategy, which sets out plans to strengthen partnerships between the Government and the retail sector.
