IHBC South East & AECB – Retrofitting our Friend’s: The adaptation, retrofit and remodelling of a listed quaker house

18 May - 11:00 - 14:00

£10 – £15

A unique opportunity to visit a Georgian Quaker Meeting House, and hear about the planning journey and recent construction work.
The Lewes Meeting House was built in 1724 and is listed and located in a conservation area. It had been badly extended in the 50’s and over subsequent years leading to poor thermal performance, noise problems, water ingression and issues with poor access.

Planning and Listing Building consent took many years, but the recent building work has seen this iconic building retrofitted, and extended to provide inclusive access with a hybrid heat pump system and other measures to secure a more sustainable future for the building.
