This morning course will be provided by Steve Emery of Oxford University. The first talk will provide an overview to fire in historic buildings, and give an insight into the development of fire in historic buildings.

It will cover some of the key components to look for during an inspection and where the main risks of fire are within historic buildings. His second talk will address fire regulations and precautions to take to protect your building, particularly in relation to fire doors.

Steve Emery will also present an overview of his latest research, following the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in April 2019, examining the strength of limestone when subjected to heat.
