Place Services – Timber Frame Repairs

4 September 2019 - 6 September 2019

£291

This three-day course is aimed at providing and developing skills in timber frame repairs, to those working in the sector and any beginners who would like to increase their knowledge in conservation techniques. This course is suitable for those with and without experience in timber frame repairs, as the repair work can be tailored to all students’ requirements.

We are very privileged to be hosting the course at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, which is home to the 7th Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury. It will take place on a unique and live site on the estate, at the seventeenth century Barn and Former Stables at Brewhouse Farm.

The course will be provided by Rick Lewis. Rick runs his own carpentry business working mainly in Suffolk where he has built up an excellent reputation for his high quality work on the historic buildings of the area.

Hatfield House is well connected by road and rail, 21 miles from Central London, 7 miles north of the M25 (junction 23) and 2 miles east of the A1(M) (junction 4). The Barn is located on the southern boundary of the estate, accessible by car with parking on site. An overnight accommodation package is available – email us for details.

Bursaries are available through the City & Country Bursary Scheme. Email us for more information or download a bursary application form.
